So I’m super high on life right meow and pretty much know the answers of the world so I thought what better way to utilize my gifts than to analyze the story behind this person we know as “Lady GaGa”. I am probably completely wrong on this analysis but in my mind I think I’m a modern day Sherlock Holmes so just roll with it. Let’s start in the beginning of the video when there is a creepy ass man holding a fucked up doll thing. This scene signifies her loss of innocence and the loss of who she really is. Pre-GaGa she was just Stephanie Germanotta, a YouTube artist who was barely noticed. She then realized that in our society, the only way she was going to be noticed was if she made a complete scene. And thus GaGa was born. Crazy hair, make-up, clothes and techno-dance mainstream music all create this mask shielding the real musician from the world and keep her protected. Her being a robot is literally meaning she is being a robot in order to fit into a society where you literally have to be outrageous and abnormal to even be noticed. I feel like GaGa used this song to gauge the reactions of her fans to a glimpse at the real musician she is. And I feel that GaGa thinks that she has made a big enough and crazy entrance that she now can actually express herself and sing what she wants to and finally be accepted for it. The whole mainstream techno music she created (while amazing) was just a way for a struggling young artist to finally be noticed and given a chance to be a successful artist. The scene with herself being a man and woman could be a split personality, the innocent girl playing the piano is who she used to be or maybe who she really is now on the inside, but instead she must play this aggressive and crazy person to the outside world in order to be accepted? And when she is a mermaid that could mean a few things. Mermaids change when they are on land to look human and fit in but when they are returned home they turn back into their true form. Maybe Gaga can relate to the mermaid and when she’s back home she can finally be Stephanie Germanotta. Either way I think this video was used to show the struggles of GaGa.
